Move-it
Kentaro Yasu, Kathrin Probst, Maki Sugimoto, Michael Haller, Masahiko Inami (2011)

Here are clip-shaped devices that have sensors and actuators.

The sensors are photo interrupter module. Each clip device can recognize which note has been pinched by the reflected infrared light by the unique pattern printed on the flip side of each note.

And the actuation system is a combination of a coil-shaped SMA (Shape Memory Alloy) and a polyolefin sheet. They are embedded in the clip device to provide a sufficient motion.

Therefore, just writing "meeting 16:00" on a note using a digital pen and this system, the user can get a physical reminder without any complex setting.
